Both in your introduction which you have given us, and by way of the discussion we engaged in last night, you have set my mind at rest in that you seem to have covered all the bases of concern and are committed to tweak or adjust if needed in your service delivery within the bounds of Observatory. On behalf of the ONW, I wish you every success in the takeover and look forward in engaging with you in some serious crime fighting initiatives; in the overall support to the OBSID's security arm, Vetus Schola; the OCPSF and in the support to SAPS in making Observatory the safest suburb in the west. This forum has raised several concerns regarding the Vetus Schola and Observatory Armed response transaction which took place this month. I would like to take this opportunity to address them. Firstly, we would like to assure all Observatory residents that we are a properly registered concern wit all the necessary registration certifications. Our company is a corporate member of SAIDSA (South African Intruder Detection Services Association). We were one of two companies in the Western Cape in the last SAIDSA inspection to achieve a 100 percent pass. We are registered with PSIRA under the number 105421. We are registered with the private security provident fund under number 173895 Our objective is to work closely with the ONW and the Observatory CID. To this end we have met with both of these parties and have already put in motion the wheels to make this happen. The negotiations to purchase of the Vetus Schola client base was entered into in September and was only finalised last week. It is for this reason that the public was not advised any earlier. We apologise for not having made this information available earlier but it was just not feasible. Certain staff from Observatory Armed Response, have, in terms of our obligations in law, been employed by Premier Security. We have taken steps to ensure that these staff are capable and trustworthy. To this end we have arranged polygraphing as well as drug testing. We will deal with matter further, should this be necessary, once we have the results. Training is already underway to bring the members up to speed on the operational procedures and standards required by our company. The Vetus Schola staff are joining our team with effect from 1 October 2011. By now all Vetus Shola clients and Observatory Armed Response clients will have been notified by means of a hand delivered letter of the transaction. Within the next few days they will be phoned with a view to requesting that they test their alarms to ensure that we are receiving their alarm signals. We have included in the notification that went out, they key-holder information captured on our system and we urge the clients to check this and make amendments where required. Technical services will be provided by Premier Security unless the client specifically requests that Barnet Wedel of the entity ?alarms with Barney? provide this service. Lance Peacock, is the area manager and may be contacted directly should you have any special security arrangements you may want to make. Lances cell number is 0734341164 and his email address is [email protected] We hope we have allayed your concerns and we look forward to serving your community.
