On Friday I had a coloured guy ring my bell asking if I would sell any jewellery. I said I dont have any. I was surprised when he said “We will take all types of jewellery, gold or anything”. I did not open for him and talked over the wall, not willing to talk further. This report is hectic and yet again, shows that we have to step up all surveillance over the next two to three months as a start. We have to act quickly and put a firm stop to this escalation! We can not afford people getting into a panic, not being able to rely on burglar bars ! Is there no further description than ‘3 adult men and a child ‘ ?
PS what can I do... I am getting repeated sms’s requesting me to join the OUR HOOD app, but I dont want it since my phone does not have that capacity. Yesterday I got 10 sms’s and I cant sms or call back ! They had a gun. They used a car jack to gain entry through both the fence and the burglar bars. They particularly wanted gold jewellery which my neighbours did not have. They ransacked the house and took everything of interest and left them unharmed by severely traumatised.
