In my opinion. The quick solution is to place security. Then there is the option to track people by placeing a camera. The long term option may be getting a fence.
My domestic worker was mugged at 11.25 am last week Tuesdsay 11 August (on Wrensch + Nuttall.) I heard the shouting and saw him run down Wrensch. I tracked the guy in my car and then saw him crossing the river opposite the swimming pool. He was a tall black man with fairly short black hair and he ran very fast. He crossed the river and the berm like a cross-country athlete and ducked in a zigzag way like he was under fire as he darted into the sloot near the N2 like its his regular race track. He hit her over then head with a object in a black bag and discarded his red jacket as he ran. He was wearing dark long pants and a soft collar short sleeve shirt. We received another email from a concerned resident over the weekend: I lived opposite the observatory swimming pool and the amount of people being robbed there over the past few weeks has been alarming. Please can I request that provision be made for security to be placed in the swimming pool parking lot area during the hours of 5am - 8am. The criminals are coming out from the Liesbeek parkway river area and underneath the freeway bridge area and attacking even school kids walking to Rhodes High within this open area in the morning. Its is really not safe there and I am very worried at the children's safety. Please can we make it a priority to sort this out.
