Hi all sorry if this is duplicated but this is in case you not already on facebook.com/obswatch ONW resources are limited and we looking for persons to assist spreading Alerts etc around Obs. Various grass root WhatsApp group <http://db.tt/3HX7Yk0c>s (WA) alerted us to this trend and Hannes Bronkhorst our new Ops Safet <http://www.obsid.org.za/>y Manager received at least half a dozen theft cases. This may mean that at least a dozen and likely many more batteries have already and are being stolen in Observatory alone right now, indeed there are WhatsApp reports that Mowbray also suffered a spate of losses. This is why we ask all REPORT REPORT REPORT Go to facebook.com/obswatch for tips how to prevent it and do a bit of googling, my local WA group gave lots of tips of local businesses which can help but couldn't read them all. There is also an alarming trend of SCOOTER thefts. There thefts and attempts even from behind high walls and garages (see facebook post 10 Sept) Saps advised that they suspect a scooter thief reported on facebook 17 July to steal batteries as well. He was arrested but apparently on the loose again by the justice system. We got possibly at least half to a dozen of criminals in Obs which whilst restrained could not be arrested by lack of residents not prepared laying criminal charges. Result not only continued minor incidents but also serious injuries to our fellow village neighbours. Hence my request to REPORT REPORT REPORT but also lay CHARGE CHARGE CHARGE and thanks to all who read this messages and do all this things resulting in Obs becoming a better and caring place.
