This is a bug in the documentation. The 'fspecial' function should only support 3x3 Laplacians. I'll fix the documentation in the near future (it's on my TODO). However, if you want to add support for different sizes, I do welcome patches / ideas -- just remember that the API needs to be compatible with Matlab.
