share so much data, please put it online somewhere instead.

contacting me directly. That way others can reply to and learn from

Have you read the chapter on packages in the Octave manual? If not, I
recommend that you give it a quick look. It seems like the basic issue
is that you should create a directory called 'inst' and put your m-files
there.
Also, have you looked at the 'image' package? It seems that you have a
bunch of functions in your package that you might as well get from
'image' (e.g. the Hough transformations).
