Hi,

http://octave.sourceforge.net/java/index.html
states that java-1.2.6 depends on octave (>= 2.9.12).

Apparently, this information is wrong. The package does not compile with
header files of Octave 3.0. It cost me quite some time to figure this
out.

Please correct the dependency information. Maybe, it is possible to
return an error on "pkg install" if octave 3.2 is not installed.
