Hello Søren,
Great to see your prior work on this area. I would like to see
these specific binary image connected component codes
implemented as well.

I did not study your code, but it seems to be
faster than my queue based version at initial glance. I agree
we should use it as the starting point and write wrappers
around this.

Matlab compatibility with imaging toolbox might be a nice
feature for people willing to cross over :-). For present
keeping the b/w image connected component functions
like labeling, connected component identification and
boundary detection are an excellent target.
