I'm using the most recent Octave.app and Gnuplot.app package (from 2009-10-03, 
which is getting a bit behind). I got this the first time I ran octave after 
installing the OSX update. From the error it looks like this may or may not be 
an octave, or gnuplot, or OSX issue, but the combination is now broken.
