To replicate:

x = linspace(-500,500,2048);
plot(x, Si(x));

Observe the anomalous behavior starting around roughly |x|=200.   The Si(x) 
function should not drop off like that; it should continue oscillating 
asymptotically about +/- pi/2 as x approaches +/- infinity.
