Hi I e-mailed the professor of that class 8 days ago. Still haven't received an answer. Should I start including the functions in the package anyway (they're GPL after all).
Carnë ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Carnë Draug <[email protected]> Date: 7 June 2011 15:31 Subject: Octave-forge image processing package To: [email protected] Cc: Octave Forge <[email protected]>, Søren Hauberg <[email protected]> Dear Prof. joly, My name is Carnë and a I'm a member of the octave-forge project, where I focus specially on the image project. We have recently come across your profile page at IRIT where you make available several octave functions developed by students while in one of your courses back in 2005 (this page http://www.irit.fr/PERSONNEL/SAMOVA/joly/Teaching/M2IRR/IRR05/index.html ). Some of those functions have in the mean time been implemented in octave core and others in octave-forge image package. However, some of them are still missing and since they were released under GPL, we would like to add them to the package. As such, I'm writing to you seeking approval on this action. If you could also provide us with the e-mail of the students, or inform them of this, we'd be thankful and I'm sure they would like to know that other people also find their work useful. I'd also like to thank you for releasing the code under GPL and cultivate the ideals on your students, a commendable act. Hope that you release code under a free/libre license again for future projects. If you do, we would appreciate immensely if you were to contact us, so we can add them to the packages as soon as possible. 6 years ago, these functions would have been a even bigger help for the octave community. Hoping to hear from you soon.
