Hi Johan, I think it would be great to have both packages together. By merging you will not loose copyright over your code or nothing. I probably will not even be able to touch your code. We will just help each other to maintain a nice package that (as was planned) includes functions for structural dynamics. If you think about it, a package named ocframe will be downloaded only by those who take the care of reading its description. Under the label of mechanics (think of simMechanics in Matlab) you will for sure get more downloads.
The package mechanics is planned to have io functions that make it compatible with the geometry package. Eventually user will be able to draw and SVg file with their desing and load it directly in octave for simulation. I think this will be an excellent extension to ocframe. Anyway, you are free to do it as you prefer. I wanted to let you known that I support Carnë's idea. BTW, nice work with ocframe! :D JPi 2011/9/28 Johan Beke <johanb...@hotmail.com>: > Hi All, > > Although I'd like to join the packages together it might be more interesting > to have them separated.
