That's possible. TBH, I don't remember whether last time I tried to
compile the comm
package was before or after the changes to mkoctfile, which removed
almost all deps
from the link stage. It's very possible that I still had an octave
version from before that
change, hence I didn't have the issue.

I'm not really the comm package maintainer (and David doesn't the time to do it
anymore). So if anybody wants to jump in and fix the problem, feel
free to do it.
