Only if the compilers have "/usr/bin/gcc-4.2" and "/usr/bin/g++-4.2" executables. Those paths were set when your Octave.app was *created*, and aren't going to change if you download it again. You could just reinstall it from a downloaded disk image and get the same result in less time.
