In a recent upgrade (using the hardy-dell-mini-proposed source), the
network-manager-pptp package was removed from my system due to a
conflict with the new network-manager package.
Therefore, with the current state, use of PPTP VPN connections with
network manager is not possible.
(it was, however, working prior to the update)
