Unless its a New Zealand Site that provides Copyright infor for NZ, it may
not be much use to NZ Developers....as we have STRANGE...if not...in the
works of my lawyer "Obscure copyright laws"...he is a copyright lawyer, so I
guess he knows what he says....hehehe
Basically, it goes like this :- if the client says we WANT you to writte US
a program to do BLAH..... They own it
if it goes like this :- do you think its possible to write a program to do
BLAH.... and you write a program that does BLAH....YOU it
It all comes down to being commisioned to do it.
Even being asked to do it with no contract in place....you own it.
Although, becareful of VERBAL contracts...these CAN be legually binding....

There is a page/site in the Internet that talks and provides information for
software developers about copyright, licensing etc. I can't find the URL.
Try a search

Subject: [DUG-OFFTOPIC]: Software licensing
A question -
Do any of you have experience with software licensing ?
I sell software into a niche market and it has been suggested that I provide
some sort of license for each copy of the software that I supply so that it
is clear that the ownership of the software remains with me - does anyone
have any suggestions or comment in this regard.
