I know (or care honestly) nothing about the History but I thought they
always claimed that 'Lady Delphi' was Athena? Am I wrong?

Subject: [DUG-OFFTOPIC]: Delphi 6...
Just saw this on /. in the Mandrake 6.2 thread:

On the same note: the internal code name for Delphi 6 is "Iliad". The
splash screen for field test releases (I suppose I'm technically violating
non-disclosure, but what the heck) shows a bunch of sailing ships and a
stirring slogan about "Delphi's Continuing Voyage."
As a history dweeb, I have two problems with that: (1) the ships, though
vaguely classical-looking (lanteen mizzens) are too modern to fool the
most amateur classicist (ship-rigged, keel-based hull, yada
yada); (2) somebody obviously has the Iliad confused with the Odyssey.
I mentioned this to a co-worker expecting something between tolerant
silence and "get a life". Instead I got a long list of historical blunders
on Delphi packaging. (Lady Delphi, for example, looks more Athenian than
Delphic.) You never know where lurks a history dweeb.
And here I was hoping to see a User Friendly cartoon in the splash screeen
(now that would be cool, a different UF strip each boot <g>).
