I was under the impression some Java contractors can earn up to $80 an hour (this was about 2 years back with the Java fever). It's a shame Delphi isn't as well-rewarded financially.

I wish Octane (their full-blown .NET Delphi product) would hurry up and be released so we'd at least be on an equal footing with our Microsoft counterparts.

I've been very impressed with the depth, skill & availability of Delphi programmers in NZ.

 

Most have got work, and like the idea of a top-up or bonus project.

 

Rates range from $30 to $60 per hour, depending on skill, experience, availability, circumstances etc.
