I was looking at the Microsoft website, and I could not understand the
MSDE licensing stuff. I was hoping that someone could help me out while
we're on the subject.
How do you get hold of MSDE?
What do you have to buy to be able to use it and distribute it to
clients?
I read that it cannot be used for anything that you could use Access
for. How does this get worked out? Because you can use Access for a lot
of things, it just performs badly and has no security. My intended use
is to rebuild and improve an existing Access application that I wrote in
a uni summer job. I would like to add features like the ability to
prevent users from changing the source code. Do they count?
Or perhaps I am misunderstanding, and you simply can't use it to create
a program that mimics the functions of Access. That is, a SamAccess(tm).
