Subject: [DUG-Offtopic] Borland Product Downloads

I have been waiting for D2005 to be shipped for a while. It seems strange to me that in this day and age of Broadband Internet etc, that I have to wait in my office in Timaru for a product to arrive on a bit of plastic from Singapore.

I understand that Borland don’t have the coffers that MS does, but one thing I like about MS is that they allow MSDN subscribers full downloadable access to their product library. Very Handy.

Borland have the trials available, it seems to me that it would be good if they allowed users to download the full versions and send serials etc on receipt of order. They would of course still need to send the CD’s etc, but at least the waiting would be eliminated, also CD’s can get damaged etc, so it would be good to have another source.

Just a thought.
