SpySweeper is the one I concluded was best too when I was fixing customer
machines.

Unfortunately it still couldn't handle the latest variants of CoolWebSearch
etc. Still that was a few months ago, maybe the anti spyware programs have
improved since then. Part of the problem of course is that the guys writing
the spyware are getting PAID to write them - it's not like viruses which are
usually amateur efforts. So the top spyware programs usually have a new
version release every few days and they have had the time and money to
develop much more elaborate defences than virus writers do.
