Hey Candidates,

(we really need to resurrect the election candidates alias again...)

As part of the election campaign that has officially started, can you please
provide the following information as soon as possible -

  Name:
  Affiliation:
  Bio: (a few paragraphs)

You can either provide this to ogb-discuss at opensolaris.org, add them to the
existing tracking bugs on defect.opensolaris.org (Community > OGB >
Nominations), blog it, or update your ID information on opensolaris.org. I will
then organize a page similar to how Al collected the information last year and
use it to the inform the members better on the election candidates.

Additionally, Barton George (cc'd above) has gracefully agreed to interview the
candidates this year through phone, as Simon did last year. If you would like
to
be interviewed by Barton on your election campaign, please get in touch with
him
directly and organize a time. He can do interviews over the phone. If any
members would like to provide additional questions to the candidates that
Barton
can ask, reply to this thread.

Finally, we will be organizing another priority poll during this election, with
the same set of items as last year -

o Deploy a public defect management system
o Deploy a public Request To Integrate (RTI) system
o Deploy a public code review facility on opensolaris.org
o Reorganize the existing Community/Project organization
  o Deploy a public wiki on opensolaris.org.
o Replace or remove Jive forum interface
  o Provide an x86/AMD64-based kernel/project build facility
o Remove inactive Communities or Projects
  o Provide a SPARC-based kernel/project build facility
o Replace opensolaris.org tools with an open source CMS or wiki
o Eliminate reliability issues with opensolaris.org web pages

Candidates should feel free to state their views, and priorities, with respect
to these items in the election.

Many thanks!

Glynn
(acting as OGB Secretary and election wrangler)
