Since everybody starts to add a short bio, I'll try as well :)

1. I am in no way contractually related to SMI in persona The company I
own sells SUN gear as the main platform for our all Open Source based
voice solutions and I have been a user of Solaris
since long before the current SysV based stuff.

2. I am responsible for maintaining the freeswitch project on solaris
(www.freeswitch.org) working on SFE packages for freeswitch,
openser, freeradius 2 (there seems to be old version for freeradius1) ,
freeradius-client. I am a core member of the freeswitch OSS software
project and am taking part in many other voice
related software projects.

3. I am working on a port of sipXecs to solaris (www.sipfoundry.org)

4. I actively try to take part and help on any opensolaris related event
I manage to get to (latest was fosdem where I was trying to help from
time to time
by explaining things to peole coming to the booth, next one will be
LinuxTag and probably tech days in St. Petersburg)

5. I am known in other open source projects as the unchangable solaris
fan ;) So evangelism is my daily bread. Sometimes probably resulting in
people having enough of listening or reading about it :)

6. I work somewhat successfully on convincing hardware vendors related
to my voice stuff to provide drivers for solaris/opensolaris
managed with 2 yet, lets see how many more I can get there (still
wroking on them to do SPARC too, they just did i86).

So I guess in the OGB I would represent:

My visions and opinion as a long years Solaris user
My visions and opinion as a software porter
My visions and opinion as a SMI reseller
My visions and opinion as a Evangelist

It'll be the whole package of all those, probably often enugh completely
not compatible opinions :) I would like to mostly push for more
advocacy, more visibility and a better presentation to the outside
world. Even en lieu of the current discussions I think we have a
fantastic project but need to work hard to make people aware of it.

Regading the current discussions my only comment would be that I think
that SMI is an essential partof the community and splitting it into non
SMI community and SMI seems pretty
strange to me. I will vote and push and lobby (either as OGB or not) for
a strong and growing communication exchange between all community parts
(yes I think we non SMI people suck in communicating to SMI as well).

So much about me .. back to work
cheers

Michal
