Right, we don't have a new poll, but the 2008 poll shows these priorities:

   1. Deploy a public defect management system.
   2. Deploy a public RTI system.
   3. Deploy a public code review facility on opensolaris.org.
(cr.opensolaris.org is live! thanks to Dan Price and everyone else
who helped with this. Do I smell our first set of awards?)
   4. Deploy a public wiki on opensolaris.org.
   5. Create an infrastructure project to run opensolaris.org.

I'm taking a leadership role on #4, working on the new instructions for
use, testing content migration and all the features and landing pages.

JBeck partly owns #2 with Mark Nelson and it is connected to #1 which I
think (but don't know for sure) that Valerie will be involved in.

Which leaves only #5 (which is the project Jim Gris manages and Alan
Burlison leads)

In addition, we have Jim Walker on the team involved in package
contributions through the sw-porters CG and the test labs.

So, that is what's driving this piece from my perspective. Does this
answer the question you were asking?

Cool, I agree. I was hoping Lynn wanted to help drive this as part of
the 'care and feeding' role she mentioned in the OGB meeting, but I
haven't heard from her yet. Even if she can't, I think we can do a lot
of recognition between the 7 of us and help to get advocates like
yourself to some conferences and events throughout the year. I'm a
co-leader on the OpenSolaris Champions project that Aaron Houston in
Advocacy CG hasn't yet launched, so if nothing else, I'll try to go live
with that project next month to get this rolling and line up some awards.

OGB Townhall, where we prepare a short update on our progress, folks can
ask their questions or talk briefly about what they're doing in their
OpenSolaris groups and projects so we can help to promote it further.

I think so, I'd like to plan at least two for this year.

I hope so, I've heard July, so we can dbl-check this and find out for sure.

Understood, let's work on getting either to the Summit or OSCON as a group.

Approval of OGB's success in communicating what is going on in the key
areas to the outside world. This is motivation to keep communicating and
working at communication because we know we'll be measured on it in 8
months time. This will also serve as a 'test vote' far enough ahead of
the annual election to start working out kinks, get all the ssh proxy
files updated :D, and give people a voice separate from their election
vote to express satisfaction/dis-satisfaction with the board.

Oops, sorry for the random acronym, will try to avoid those.

Sure, not every OGB will want to, but for 2009, I'd agree to such a
policy and help to drive it to completion.

Great idea! I'll add this to the schedule, so we remember to collect
status reports in one place as we get them.

Sorry about that, to clarify, I will ask Vincent to engage with us
on-list or by joining our meeting, never in a private meeting just with me.

We had talked privately before I decided to run and that conversation
colors my perspective on the priorities for the year, so I felt it
necessary to reveal that conversation since I'm now the Chair. Vincent
probably doesn't even know yet that I'm chair and you are vice-chair.
BTW, how's that press release coming? :)

I'm low on the food-chain as they say, so it will take me a bit more
time to get his engagement and I prefer for us to be ready for it as a
team when he joins in.

So, I appreciate your patience, and for asking the tough questions and
keeping me honest. Keep 'em coming!

thanks,
Michelle
