You're absolutely right Octave, but we're got to move one step at a time. Shawn Walkers "Distribution CG" and the "LDOM's CG" proposal last year are two wonderful examples of a need above the CG level to stimulate coordination, collaboration, and to some extent execute on shared vision. Because code repositories are offered at the Project level the easier and faster it is to create a project the faster and easier it is to get people working on the things they want to work on, thus solving a lot of our current contribution problems. The next step is to actually shuffle the existing projects and CG's. Some CG's are really projects, and some projects are really CG's. We've got to set all that straight. One we do, the desire to group related CG's together will become increasingly apparent. LDOM's, Zones, and xVM are all independently managed efforts and thus independent CG's, not projects. However, they are all Virtualization efforts, and thus should be grouped in some way... that may be categories, meta-communities, or the term I like best "Consortium's", but that can only happen after we've gotten the underlying structure more flushed out. So you're on the right track, Octave. I think many of us see the problems, its now just a matter of gritting our teeth and making the required changes, and solving one problem after another until we get to where we need to be. I greatly appreciate your feedback specifically Octave, you're an extremely valuable and important member of our community. benr.
