And that's exactly our intention.  Not withstanding the legitimate
concerns (IMO) around the name, this preview release is meant to be an
experiment and an artifact meant to provoke discussion.  That
discussion should take place on the appropriate discussion lists
(nominally indiana-discuss but also pkg-discuss, caiman-discuss and
likely sfwnv-discuss).  As we experiment more and gain additional
insight, any changes from the current defaults in ON and other
consolidations will come through the ARC for review.

BTW, for those of you throwing stones at Dave Miner, please redirect
those stones towards me as I was the one who asked him to make the
change to the installer such that the default user would have
/usr/gnu/bin at the front of their PATH.  Although I appreciate hearing
people's opinions on this, what I really value would be hearing the
experiences from both existing OpenSolaris users and new-to-OpenSolaris
users who have used these settings as shipped.
