OGB Meeting Notes: Monday Sept 15 @ 2 pm Pacific

Out: Glynn (vacation), Steve (conference)
Discussion:
* Begin mapping out ideas for an implementation strategy for the new
community structure.
o Need to resolve differences between current Constitution and
the new structure.
o Need to sync OGB plans with webapp/infrastructure team's plans.
o Need more communications on all of this across the community
to get more feedback.
* Implementation options:
o Wait to implement the new structure until the infrastructure
can support everything?
o Start implementing now where we can even if it's a manual
process in some areas?
o Issue: implementing now could cause confusion because we'd
not be in sync with the Constitution and the current webapp,
but waiting could also lead to problems later if community
involvement and awareness is low.
o Decision: Document what we've done, communicate that to the
community (more than we already have), write/sync transition
plans, start implementing where we can even if parts are
manual to get people used to the changes that are coming.
This seems like the best solution because there will be
multiple times over the coming months when the
infrastructure (webapp, wiki, etc) will have to be upgraded
and tested by the community anyway. Jim to write initial
draft of this after talking with webapp dev team. OGB can
iterate on that draft.
* Community Meeting:
o Scheduled for Tues Sept 16 @ 3 pm Pacific.
o Tim/Dan to brief on latest plans. Tim posted multiple times
to multiple lists looking for community updates as well.
o An OGB member to brief regarding the new org.
* New Agenda Items:
o Need to add to a future meeting JBeck's agenda item of a OGB
mid-term discussion.
Action Items:
* Jim to draft one pager on status for someone to do 5 min talk at
tomorrow's community meeting.
* Jim to draft initial OGB plan to sync with dev team's plans.
Next Meeting Issues:
* Date: Wed Sept 24th @ 3 pm Pacific
* Simon will miss this meeting due to travel.
* Jim will be traveling as well but will try to make the call
pending flights.
* Michelle should be back for this meeting.
