The poll system was put out for review, and work on it is complete for the present. At the moment there is no engineering effort available to make any more changes, and bearing in mind the closeness of the election, this would in any case be a risky course of action.
The votes are protected by a crypto hash, so people can only vote once. The total number of people who have cast a vote so far can be seen on the poll web interface (second link on the home page), and the core-contrib mailing list can be used to remind people to vote. -- Alan Burlison --
