I thought John had made it very clear that it was not up to him and he
had shared as much as he could in public.

The OGB cannot remove John from his job at Oracle, and cannot force
Oracle to accept contributions - the most they could do in forcing
this issue is to further drive a wedge between the community and
the engineers working at Oracle.   Given John's years on the OGB I
cannot imagine you'd find a better advocate for the community to
replace him in the difficult position he is in.

I also wonder if you are authorized to speak for the ksh93 project
and why this is not coming from one of the well known project leaders,
Roland or Olga, if it represents the opinion of the entire project?
