First I assumed this was a typo, and was going to ask if this was opposed to 
those "Continuous" Companions out there (bad math humor).

Then I thought about it and wasn't sure this was a typo after all.

Do you mean "discreet", as in "careful about what one says or does; prudent; 
esp. ... preserving confidences"?

Or do you mean "discrete", as in "separate and distinct; discontinuous"?

Really, both words work.
