Subject: [ogf-d20-l] The Craft of the Mind released
<< OK, I'm going for broke. :)
"The Craft of the Mind, version 1.01" is released under the OGL, avaliable
at the same place. (http://home.nycap.rr.com/steelstone/mental.zip)
I'm gambling that anyone who has a problem with it will tell me to delete it
before suing me... and I *think* that's a reasonably safe gamble. (if it
isn't... well, if it isn't I think I'll have to spend money on a lawyer.
*sigh*) >>
Interesting question, since the folks you should fear most (Lucas and
Wizards, since there's some superficial similarity to the non-OGL Star Wars
stuff) are not bound by the OGL terms to give you fair warning. I don't know
if they are bound by any law. But I DO know this: lawyers seldom jump
straight to the lawsuit unless there's a compelling time constraint. The
politely-worded letter costs a couple hundred bucks and probably does the
trick. The threatening follow-up costs a couple hundred more, and usually
works. I don't know if you're legal, but I think you'll avoid a lawsuit.
