First, I'm new to the list, so HI!

Consider the Cheapbytes version of RedHat. It competes with
the original version on price and there will be some people
who prefer to buy a "CheapRPG" version of PHB.

Also, consider Mandrake which was originally based on RedHat.
It is a feature added offering and there will be some people
who are looking for those features.

The point is in both those cases, more people are exposed to
Linux. RedHat being the leading brand will get more sales
(people switching, new users, etc.). The WotC just needs to
keep the lead by 1) not being price oppressive and 2) listen
to their customers and offer the features they are looking for.

On a slight tangent, I have a question. Has anyone considered
the legal issues involved with writing and running a MUD based
on 3e rules?

Anyone from WotC care to comment?
