y'know, this d20 discussion REALLY belongs on the d20 list... why don't we
move it there? (thus the cc)

Actually, Spelljammer crosses with Ravenloft, and the Realms DEFINITLY cross
with Planescape... but that's beside the point.

In my honest opinion, the best solution might be a non-WotC driven "100% d20"
movement, as a way of pointing out those games that take all of the D20SRD
without removing or substantially altering any of it; new items of similar
balance to the standard items (new spells, new magical items) would be
allowable, and even new classes, but no drastic *mandatory* changes to the
rules (thus, you could have a spell-point based system, but it would have to
be an option...)

If the liscense were to be changed at all, I'd suggest adding a requirement to
list the changes from the D20SRD... or from the PHB. As a consumer I would
expect such a nod anyway, and a summary table or chapter would only help me
appreciate the d20 product.

DM

Looking for a game? I DM in Upstate NY, twice a month at Artemis Games in New
Hartford, NY (a suburb of Utica)

Even better, I've got irregular games where I live, in Charlton (near Albany).
Drop me a line and we'll game!
