Heh. This is actually YAAL (yet another Apple lawsuit), between
Mackintosh (the stereo equipment manufacturer) and Apple (over the
computer). I'll see if I can dig up a cite and send it off-list, but
this one, IIRC, got partially tossed out and partially settled (ever
wonder why even though they're completely Apple designed, the iMac and
Cube speakers are released by Harman-Kardon? :-) because it wasn't shown
that a consumer who was aiming to buy $20,000 Mackintosh brand speakers
would accidentally end up buying a $2,000 Apple Macintosh computer,
instead.
I'll note here that the Apple v. Apple suit was more over Apple Records
believing Apple Computer had violated a secret agreement they'd made by
putting a hardware synthesizer chip in their newest Apple II, not over
the similar names (although the names were dragged into it, just to see
if they could make more money out of it).
