Huh. Looks like Sourceforge's attachment handler breaks animating gifs. Here is

I noticed something strange with using autotest.py on testgame/autotest.rpg
The rectangle created in the "slice tests" script has a black border on the
first pass, and a grey border on the second pass, even if you are comparing
identical source.
I have attached an animating gif that illustrates
This anomaly briefly had me freaking out wondering why my changes to merge the
hero() array into gam.hero() were altering rectangle border color :)
