Haha! Well, no worries, I won't delete the mailing list or turn off any of
the bugmail or cron mail unless dreamhost forces my hand. (Which they
haven't currently threatened to do)

I'm actually really surprised that you are still getting the git commit
mail. Those don't even show up in the mailing list's own archive, so I
don't know what is happening with them.
