Hi Udo
We unfortunately cannot do that as the amount of packages being updated
creates far too big metadata. Thus if we would keep such long history
pkg installation times become unbearable.
Donations to the current machine fund or contributions to IPS are
greatly welcome.

Hi
In General if you want to develop drivers for your HBA's we are happy
that you do, but could you please do so on a modern OS basis? I don't
know why one of your customers wants to still use the Old OpenIndiana
version or why you still want to but in general that sounds like a
really bad idea. We do not provide security updates for such older
versions and are definetly not paid to do so. So you are on your own
there and are essentially ontop of your own fork. You can do that but
we do not provide gratis support for backporting. If you want to make
drivers for illumos to sell your HBA's please use the current upstream
version or develop together with illumos folks inside of illumos-gate.
In principle, it's ok to cutoff the supported OI versions at some
point, but I today I found that this cutoff is made far too early:
Cannot install driver mlxcx:
pkg install: No matching version of driver/network/mlxcx can be installed:
Reject: pkg://openindiana.org/driver/network/
[email protected]
to
pkg://openindiana.org/driver/network/
[email protected]
Reason: This version is excluded by installed incorporation
consolidation/osnet/[email protected]
And that's on a system that's not even 4 month behind head.
At least, the supported versions should be kept reaching back
to the last ISO release, that would be about 6-7 month.
