Hey,
I wouldn't mind if you said this in a superior manner, at home I only
use Linux and I am pretty proud having made the move after using Windows
exclusively for 13 years :D
About knowing what one is doing: It's mainly a fight for me, and I am
constantly learning since ma day job is 99% Python/PyQt. I think
Christoph Gohlke (who is on this list as well, I think) has this huge
repo of precompiled binaries for all sorts of windows python stuff
(including OIIO and OCIO). I guess he would be the one who knows what
he's doing...
Nonetheless I would be happy to transfer the piratepad and update the
Wiki page bit by bit (actually I have an all up-to-date OIIO recompile
scheduled for later this week at work... one software is still using
OIIO version 0.7.something O_o) Just let me know what you need for
setting this up.

That's great, Sebastian!
I've proven myself to be fully incompetent at maintaining Windows build
documentation, not even having access to a Windows machine myself. (I don't
think I've even laid eyes on a machine running Windows for several years, other
than perhaps idly walking by one in a big box electronics store. I'm not trying
to say this in a superior manner, it is simply a fact about what computers I
have at home and work.)
I could use the help of somebody who knows what they're doing.
Would you consider maintaining this material more "officially", if I gave you
edit permissions on the OIIO web pages?

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on building on windows for Maya 2013, because
of this I realise that I will have to build Boost against the Maya python libs.
I understand that the package has some loose dependencies, the parts that I
need are the c++ library, python bindings, OpenEXR, tx and the common
image formats. I am not sure which of the dependencies I actually need, is
there a list of them that I can check? Also should I be taking the latest
version of all of the external dependencies or are specific versions needed? As
well for the actual OIIO build is CMake fully supported?
Thanks.
Jack
