I can only speak for Fedora, which is multi-lib but typical static or noarch cmake modules would go into /usr/share/cmake but generated ones that may have arch specific information would go into /usr/lib/cmake and /usr/lib64/cmake for 32-bit and 64-bit respectively.
Whether it's in local or not would depend if it's a manual or system based install but I'm sure there's already a prefix variable that would handle that. Thanks, Richard
