I filed an issue with Vcpkg, the Microsoft "apt for Visual Studio" to request adding OIIO support here: https://github.com/Microsoft/vcpkg/issues/687 and it turns out that somebody is already working on it. Hopefully I can find some time (and find the time to wrangle a CLA through $Dayjob) to help a bit, but I definitely lack Windows expertise. If other folks can at least ping the issue so it seems like something a lot of people would find useful, one of the maintainers may be able to make time to assist. They may not be able to comment much on the inner workings, but since they work for Microsoft I have to imagine they can shed some light on the platform specific bits.
As a lazy and occasional Windows person, it'd be great to be able to get OIIO by doing "vcpkg install oiio" and having it just work.
