First of the month, that means time for software releases. I have tagged "Release-1.7.15", and updated the "release" branch tag to point to it. This is the latest production-stable release that we recommend. It should be fully API and ABI/link compatible with earlier 1.7.x releases. Release notes may be found below.
Meanwhile, the master branch (which will some day become 1.8) continues ongoing development. It's also really solid software, but makes no guarantees about compatibility.
