On CentOS 7.2 with freetype-devel not installed (which was an
oversight), building 1.8.5 failed with:

The problem is that resolve_font() is defined outside of USE_FREETYPE:

resolve_font (int fontsize, string_view font_, std::string &result)
{
result.clear ();
#ifdef USE_FREETYPE
...
but only called from code that's inside #ifdef USE_FREETYPE.
Workaround / solution is to make sure freetype-devel is installed.
