Cocoon component of OJB-JDO. Cocoon currently is trying to sport Flow as a
Controller from the MVC design. My idea is to use OJB-JDO in the "Model".
The beans are great and maybe I can find a easy way to use OJB-JDO with
Cocoon.
I would love to see this when you get to it. I am in the process of evaluating Cocoon as a front end for the web component of an application (OJB is already in use for persistence of the domain model/business objects). Based on everything so far it is likely we will doing exactly this without the Flow component (home-rolled application controller as I am a stickler for separating view control from control control). My only real concern is that Cocoon seems to be an amazing performance hog compared to other tools.
On a related note about OJB-JDO - I posted a while back asking if anyone knew the legalities/politics of building a tool that is directly dependent on the JDORI. I know the OJB JDO implementation is now, but it is more or less a sidelined project compared to the main branch. I ask as running the command line enhancer in the JDORI is a pita - it seems to require listing of every .jdo and every .class it is supposed to look at, which for a complex model is not really an option (command line length limits, etc). Hence, I want to contribute back the Ant task that handles it nicely, but don't know the politics of linking Sun's code.
