what is your value for key "PersistentFieldClass" in OJB.properties? It might help to change it in order to use the getter-Method to access that field lockingNumber, or to make that field public (probably you won't), or to use PersistentFieldDirectAccessImplNew or the like to enable OJB to access that private field directly.
