Thanks now OJB works fine, especially to Charles and Daniel.

I second this, i have OJB deployed with 6 apps running in my tomcat dev server. I never use shared libraries as it causes too much hassle - each app has it's own OJB jar - and some are different versions.
If you've not got any shared jars, can you post a stack trace and a bit more
info about what happens?
Daniel.

Hi Frank,
Are your OJB jars stored in the WebApp itself, or in a shared directory e.g. tomcat\common ?
Essentially, it's important that OJB classes be stored within the WebApp themselves, as opposed to anywhere else. e.g.
App1 WEB-INF lib db-ojb-Blah.jar all-the-other-OJB-dependencies classes your app classes.
App2 WEB-INF lib db-ojb-Blah.jar all-the-other-OJB-dependencies classes your app classes.
This is to do with ClassLoader hierarchies - a confusing part of application servers, and a little too complex to explain here.
If you *do* store the OJB jar etc in each webapp, the double check any
shared librarires. I'd bet moderate amounts of money that the problem will
be related to shared classes.
Hope that's a pointer in the right direction
Cheers,
Charles
