Hello,
 I was able to make it work, 
        1. put the p6spy.jar in a lib folder, under your webapp or
common/lib
        2. put the spy.properties file somewhere and set the environment
flag to point  to       it...   -Dp6.home="/tomcat/p6spy"  

that worked for me anyways...
