Any major problems with Amazon S3? Does it need app-space, or is it storing static files? It's pretty well-known, so shouldn't be too bad for transfer to new/different people, and there are a lot of libraries supporting building against it.
S3 might be a good option, but the Data Hub would be awesome to make it more useable too. Another thing is cost: S3 would be pretty good if you're looking to store big files which might not be accessed too often, but could be pricey if they're used extensively. An interesting balancing act. -Z -- Zach Beauvais | @zbeauvais (http://twitter.com/zbeauvais) [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) http://zachbeauvais.com On Wednesday, 12 December 2012 at 14:45, Jenny Molloy wrote: > Hi Gael > > You could host on the Data Hub http://datahub.io/, which is a service run by > the Open Knowledge Foundation (more info on CKAN and scientific data can be > found in this blog post from Mark Wainwright > http://blog.okfn.org/2012/06/19/ckan-science/) > > Alternatively, there is figshare http://figshare.com/ > > Both require no passwords to download (you may need to provide minimal > registration information to upload) and will host files of that size. > > Jenny > > On Wed, Dec 12, 2012 at 12:25 PM, Gael Varoquaux > <[email protected] (mailto:[email protected])> wrote: > > Hi list, > > > > I am trying to host a 160Mb dataset on a password-free site.
