--- Comment #30 from Ozan Çağlayan <ozan pardus org tr> 2010-02-21 22:39:31 --- "KDE 3 has a printing system, KDE 4 doesn't. Spot the difference." That's the key. KDE4 doesn't have a kdeprint like subsytem. What a functional regression from KDE3! I really don't get the whole development practice of KDE in some fields. system-config-printer-kde is another headache about printing. From: http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.5_Feature_Plan "TODO - system-config-printer-kde - Restore feature parity with KDEPrint3 where possible." Oh my god. That should already be in a working and "identical-to-kdeprint3-functionality" state in KDE 4.0 which is released in January 2008. 2 whole years, and nothing. Amarok got the same critics too. They totally broke all the stuff and started whole from the ground but at least they care and they are active. And then, what are they doing? plasma desktop, widgets, social networking stuff. Tons of stuff about nepomuk, akonadi, semantik search, etc. Okay, all of those are very promising and exciting innovations but at least start to focus them after completing the essentials of a desktop environment. KDE3 had a kio-bluetooth, KDE4 doesn't still have it. There a tons of things like that.
