And as a heavy reader of PDF file, mine is mounted in portrait view (rotated 90 degrees from most installations). So the PDF fills the width, and I see over an entire page of the file on the screen. For my use case, a horizontal splitter (one pane above the other) is ideal. That said, I am aware that my use case is not the most common use case.
