Hi, If you're bored, or just eager to edit: here is a list of imported bad physical formats that appear to contain a by statement:
http://companjen.name/ol/formats_2012-07-31-microform-by-csv.html I think the problem was that the separator between the $h and $c field was (partially) missing in the MARC record at the time of the import, although there are some 'formats' that include a description of the content, like "a sermon delivered before the Legislature of Georgia, in the capitol at Milledgeville, on Friday, November 15, 1861, being a day set apart for fasting, humiliation and prayer by His Excellency the President of the Confederate States". A clear by statement, possibly including a description of the author, 'should' go in the field labeled "Is there a By Statement?" available in librarian mode. E.g.: format "[microform / By Von T. Lehtisalo.]" becomes format "Microform" and by statement "By Von T. Lehtisalo.". Any help is appreciated (there are 'only' 264 records in this list), corrections to the above proposed procedure and algorithms / bots that do this work too :) Ben P.S. More lists like these can be made. There were over 1500 'formats' containing microform and combinations of by statements, descriptions, object dimensions and other things. P.P.S. VacuumBot recently completed changing all 500k+ "[microform] :" and "[microform] /" formats to "Microform" :D _______________________________________________ Ol-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.archive.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/ol-discuss To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send email to [email protected]
